The winch barrel is driven directly from a Bonfiglioli gearbox and hydraulic motor combination fitted with a failsafe brake unit. The brake,

being failsafe, always defaults to on should, for any, reason hydraulic pressure is lost, or the direction control valve is in its centre (neutral)

position. The hydraulic signal to the failsafe brake is achieved via a brake shuttle valve and pressure reducing valve within the load control

valve. Dynamic braking is achieved via a load control valve mounted directly onto the hydraulic motor. Static braking is via the failsafe brake

unit fitted in between the hydraulic motor. The winch is controlled via a 3 position, spring return to centre directional control valve, fitted with

a motor spool, this is not included in the scope of supply.

The winch is fitted with a Load Control Valve. The Load Control Valve provides a rendering function. It works by preventing the peak loads that

can occur in towing a wire in rough (slack) conditions. The winch is normally supplied in the underwound configuration however it is possible

to be configured to be overwound. If the winch is to be used overwound the motor mounted load control valve must be removed and turned

180° for the render function to function.
